The Day after Xmas 2011

Boxing day 2011. View from the bedroom window. Summer doesn't appear to have started yet, every afternoon has been stormy. Great for the garden though. Lots of tomatoes, corn, peas and spinach. Pumpkins just starting to come up.

Boxing day 2011. Vue depuis la fenêtre de la chambre. Été ne semble pas avoir encore commencé, chaque après-midi a été orageux. Parfait pour le jardin bien. Beaucoup de tomates, maïs, petits pois et les épinards. Citrouilles commencent tout juste à arriver.

Fun Runs

2 fun runs in 2 weeks, neither were great times but i am just glad to finish them with my fitness level. One in sydney 10k and then 14k in melbourne. Love melbourne visit, dinner at southgate and a walk along them muddy river. Rough night a formula 1 expected when in a big city

La grand motte

After watching the tdf today 5k from the finish in Montpellier, took a drive to la grand motte in anticipation of sleeping in the same little park as last time we were here, but unfortunately unable to do
it. Hit the road again and the gps went spaso, hurray for etape hotels. Been a month since our last sleep in a bed, rather than hotel kangoo, luxury. Cracked open a bottle of red tonight, luxury number 2 - beats cask wine for sure

Après avoir vu le TDF aujourd'hui 5k de l'arrivée à Montpellier, a pris une voiture à La Grand Motte, en prévision de dormir dans le parc même petite que la dernière fois que nous étions ici, mais malheureusement pas en mesure de le faire. Hit the road again et le GPS est allé Spaso, hourra pour les hôtels etape. Vous connaissez un mois depuis notre dernier sommeil dans un lit, un hôtel plutôt que de Kangoo, de luxe. Cracked ouvrir une bouteille de rouge, ce soir, de luxe numéro 2 - bat vin en fût à coup sûr

Red wine to warm the soul

Would be disappointed if La Mongie didn't give a taste of cold weather, just like last year. Red wine definately helps warm the soul and evefything else

Super Besse

Great day at Super Besse, second time we have been here and both have been memoriable. Finally got to do the run around the puy just below, around the lac, very tranquel. Weather wet but didn't stop the crowd. Cadel doing well, exciting.

Today attempted to heat a pizza using solar power. The cheese melted and the crust warmed, not fantastic but eatable, room for improvement

Visited Cholet the first year i came to france to watch the tour. So nkce to take the time to sightsee. Found the lac and nice running tracks

McCafe

Morning coffee, yyyyeeeessss. This is the first fancy mccafe we have come across in cholet. Coffee in a mug along with a cookie. Love the smiley face in the mug.

Plage des Souzeaux

Warm sunny day today, after a morning spent doing a short run, lucky to find a big market in the centra ville. Lots of cloths, fromage, fruit and legumes. People everywhere. So the afternoon we did a cruise on the bike to check out another beach. Very pretty, lots of little beach huts, boats, fishing, restaurants and gelati which we both indulged in, bb frambroise, me pistach

Chaude journée ensoleillée aujourd'hui, après une matinée faire un court terme, la chance de trouver un grand marché dans la ville de Centra. Beaucoup de toiles, fromage, fruits et légumes. Les gens partout. Donc l'après-midi nous avons fait une croisière sur le vélo pour vérifier une autre plage. Très joli, beaucoup de cabanes petite plage, bateaux, pêche, restaurants et gelati dont nous avons tous deux livré à bb frambroise, me pistach

Little island on the atlantic ocean, apparently with the best muscles in the world, at low tide the people all gather on the beach collecting seafood

Passage du Gois

To pass or not to pass, travelled the 2-3k passage just as the tide was going out at approx 4pm, had to pull over a few times as water level to cross was still too high. As you can see from the photo, some cars didn't make it.

Another look at fort boyard from the other side. Tide was out so we were able to run alittle further out to sea

Travelled to this busy little town of Rochefort, seaport of the Atlantic Ocean, 80 minute run through the centra ville, bike path to pont transbordeur and a quick look at the Maritime Musee

Still at Lacanau Beach, Le Kayoc giving free wifi, made quite a few visits back and forward from the caravan park, 5 minute walk, 2 minute bike. Bargain cafe this morning, 50c from vending machine. Shops cappucino €4

ette plage semble juste d'aller à jamais, courir pendant 30 minutes et le dos, la vie est belle
